IRCA Global began its operations in South Africa in 1993. Its team comprised of a total of 3 staff members, with Carel Labuschagne being the founder member.

Carel J. Labuschagne has over 35 years experience in the field of Risk Management in the Ferrochrome, Stainless Steel and Transport industries. He is currently the Group Chief Executive Officer of the IRCA Group of Companies.
