About

The company was established to implement the historic project, which has a social aspect.

On the 30th of November, 2010 the famous European textile manufacturer Krenholm has announced its bankruptcy. Krenholm was the largest and leading textile company in the world since the Industrial Revolution of the 19th century.

To draw attention to the great past of Krenholm and also to the fate of former Krenholm employees, who devoted their lives to work for many years and at one point became unemployed and now experiencing significant difficulties, we as a group of local enthusiasts took a non-ordinary step.

During the announced bankruptcy period, on the 31st of May 2011 – the very last of Sales Development department official hours, we as last customers have purchased the batch of fabric sized 1001,25 m2 (667,5 linear meters), practically the last meters of Krenholm fabric. On this fabric, we had captured the key milestones of the Krenholm manufacture history and made books out of it. One book is a one square meter of fabric. The book itself is an exquisite work of art. It is made from several materials: fabric, leather, wood and even a brick. The latter two materials are partially taken from the remains of demolished buildings Krenholm. The book is crafted by the leading Estonian artisans who used innovative approach during finishing stages of finishing production and created a true masterpiece of industrial heritage.

Thereby an absolutely rare unique book “The Last Meters of Krenholm” was created. Its collection composed of exactly 1000 items (1,25 sq. meter was used for experimental purposes during  book design). Each book is produced upon request and has a serial number, matching a meter number of used fabric.

The less meters of this legendary factory are left, and the more “older” they get, the more valuable the book is. Therefore, with each book sold price of the next book/meter increases by 2 euro and each year marking the birth Krenholm (12.05.) price increases by another 2 Euro.
