Jiangsu LINHAI Group is a global enterprise group consisting of over sixty member units covering scientific research, industry, trade, banking and of course, manufacturing of small engines and powersport products.
Founded in 1956, Linhai has a history of more than forty years in developing and manufacturing small engines and power machinery. Linhai employs over 400 engineers of different specialties .They have the capability of developing product of high quality with a measuring and inspecting system made up of national first-grade measuring equipment and a research and develop system which includes a power test center and a CAD developing center. Linhai has combined assets of over 1.2 billion.
In the sixty factories which form the group, different activities are integrated: production, trade, finance, scientific research and, last but not least, vocational training, at a high level. But the name of the Linhai group is tied above all, to its capacity of one of the greater Chinese producers of engines and motorized vehicles. The main role of this activity is performed by JIANGSU LINHAI POWER MACHINERY CO. Ltd. Established in 1956, Linhai has recently celebrated it’s fifty-year anniversary with experience in planning, development and production of internal combustion engines and their application to motor tools and light vehicles. At the moment, about 2000 employees are working in the company; 400 of them are technicians and engineers at a high level of specialization and professionalism. We can sum up the productive and development ability of JLPMC by the following numbers: 1) A range of eighty products obtained with a flexible system organized in six lines of production; 2) A quality control center equipped with CAD/CAM systems and the most sophisticated technologies; 3) A research and development department equipment with forefront experimentation and testing rooms.
The production can be listed in the following categories: Multi-Use Small Engines, Mopeds, Motorcycles, Scooters, and of course All Terrain Vehicles. Particularly, they produce Motorcycles & ATV from 50 cc to 520 cc with two or four-stroke engines. The production of a wide range of small engines with powers from two to ten hp is assigned to the hedge shears, chainsaws, grass clippers, fire extinguishers, pumps and related power equipment. All the products marked Linhai are certified by the Chinese Committee for Quality and the motorcycles engines have even gained the JIANGSU TEST FINE PRODUCT and the JIANGSU FAMOUS PRODUCT certifications which underline their quality and reliability. In the research and development area, JLPMC has considerable experience with planning, engineering and production. A central laboratory of about 1000 square metres is at the disposal of the engineers engaged in this activity. It’s equipped with: a) Five testing rooms including test-benches for 3 to 44 kw engines; b) A department specially conceived for the endurance tests; c) Two work rooms devised for the control of the components. In the same department there is also available some precision instruments, imported from Japan and Europe. These instruments allow the engineers the ability to record the level of vibrations, mechanical noise and other key elements of carburetors and generators. All engines produced are tested for their functioning and reliability.
Linhai’s production capacity is over 500 000 motorcycles, 1.5 millions engines and 100 000 All Terrain Vehicles. To ensure the quality control of production, Linhai has a 1500 sq. Metre area dedicated to the quality control operations. There are twenty laboratories that inspect and measure all materials and components. This facility includes an integrated system, made in the USA, able to execute physical-chemical analyses both on raw and finished materials and to find out the functional features of the different parts. In 1999, following the management decision to further develop the North American market, it has become indispensable to obtain an international certification confirming the quality and reliability of the production. Linhai was please to achieve I.S.O. 9002 certification as a result of their commitment to quality.
All Linhai’s products are recognized around the world including Asia, Africa, Europe, Canada, USA, and many other countrie.. Several successes have also been obtained with the importation of technology and foreign investments, for instance, the agreement with YAMAHA MOTOR Co., that resulted in the associated JIANGSU LINHAI YAMAHA MOTOR Co. ,and more over, the pact with BENTENG & LINKING concerning moto equipment. These joint-ventures promoted Linhai’s development and, at the same time, improved the technology and the quality of their products.
