About

Temple Emanuel of Beverly Hills has been a sacred and diverse community in which people of all backgrounds come to mark life's passages and discover a Jewish way of making sense of this world. As a modern Reform Jewish congregation and synagogue in Los Angeles, we take our inspiration from learning and wrestling with Torah in order to discover what is relevant and enriching to our lives.

There are many different doors that open to a more meaningful Jewish life including Jewish learning, Jewish culture, Jewish tradition, compelling worship, social justice, community, and spirituality. Our goal is to be a Mezuzah at those doorways, greeting and welcoming you. Whether you are a Jew by birth, a Jew by choice, or a member of an interfaith family; we encourage you to explore your own Jewish path within the embrace of our nurturing, intergenerational community.

Our clergy includes Rabbi Laura Geller, who Newsweek named one of America's Top 50 Most Influential Rabbis; Rabbi Jonathan Aaron, and Cantor Yonah Kliger. We have three award-winning schools including an Early Childhood Center, Jewish Day School, and Religious School, as well as a broad-based Adult Education Program.

Temple Emanuel is also known for its innovative musical High Holy Day and Friday Night Services including Shabbat B'Yachad, Shabbat Unplugged, and Tot Shabbat. The Shabbat morning New Emanuel Minyan service is one of the largest in the area, featuring contemplative prayer and interactive Torah study, and drawing participants of all religious backgrounds.
