Some Historical Data:

The local band Okra which featured L J, David Cook, Roy Mixon and Jeff Pollard of Leroux fame was LJ's first success in the Baton Rouge music scene in 1971. He then started his own band called Kinfolk of the Nicholson Drive Country Place era. In late 1973 the Copas Brothers was formed with brother Pat.
In the early 80's the BeeGees Studio Band were backing his vocals out on Airline Hwy in Prairieville at the Southfork Lounge. This great band also did the backing tracks on his original song at AllenTousaint Studios in New Orleans.
In the 90's he performed at the Glasgow Royal Concert Hall in Scotland.
He has performed shows with Willie Nelson, David Allan Coe, Jimmy Buffet, Jerry Jeff Walker, Guy Clark, Delbert McClinton, Asleep at the Wheel, Waylon Jennings, Vanilla Fudge, Boxtops, Lightnin Hopkins, Hermans Hermits, Animals, Black Oak Arkansas, Doug Kershaw, Hank Willams, Jr., Tom Waits,  The Meters, Dr John and others.      
He currently performs as a Solo Artist and as a Duo/Trio with Scratch Smith and/or Pat Copas.

L J had been playing in Restaurants in the Atlanta, Ga area for 3 years before moving back to his home town of Baton Rouge in July of 2007. He has since been playing in BR over the last 4 years.

Without each of you spending your time, talents, and hard work, this great event for such a worthy cause would not have been possible.  All the profits from this event go  to serve the needs of  our community and is primarily benefitting the children at the OLOL Children's Hospital.
