About

Sales: my most recent project was with a healthcare software firm. I assisted in their attempt to expand from being a regional player, and also designed a sales/marketing effort to solidify their home market. It included advice on CRM needs and implementation. Frequently, consultation boils down to rectifying a common problem: sales fundamentals have been overlooked (or rejected) in favor of complicated efforts lacking in the essential human element.

Voter Sales: also known as "running for office." The classic error of most candidates is that they believe selling themselves is somehow different than Chanel selling perfume. For instance, unless the candidate is a supermodel, mailers and website do not need to prominently feature head shots. Faces do not appear on the ballot.

Writing: I write like a house on fire, my operating principle being that its purpose is to incite passion. My experience is wide: I have published, edited, and proofread web content, ad copy, mass mail pieces, technical breakdowns of financial instruments (i.e., options strategies), complex legal briefs, ghost correspondence, dog eulogies, college entrance essays, lyrics, love letters, and consumer hate mail. At all times I have writing projects cooking because I have the attention span of a gnat. I ghosted a book on leadership for Wiley & Sons, which died ignominiously.

Leadership: I've spent untold hours volunteering for non-profits. A leader in that environment does not have the benefit of financial incentive or coercion. Without those, all that’s left is raw leadership based upon core principles which have driven people since time began. Seminars on these principles have been highly rated, as well as individual consultations.
