About

work. shop. was conceived to offer a beautiful, thoughtful space for art that defies pretension.  housed in a 1958 kenskill trailer, the gallery has regular hours on weekend afternoons from noon to dusk in pull outs along the coast highway north of santa cruz.  it can often be found in varied locations in downtown santa cruz for first fridays, and other art events in california..

we are about community, resourcefulness, and we are dedicated to craft.  we strive to cultivate an intimate and inspired space for deliberate viewers and unsuspecting passers to experience real things made by real people.  the gallery is an ongoing venue for coast road artists, as well as guest artists from most anywhere..  media include prints, etchings, ceramic, found wood sculpture and cabinetry, sculptural jewelry, zines and cards, cut paper botanicals, etc..

work. shop. also serves as a portal for performance and gathering.  campfires, poetry readings, short film showings, live music, and shadow puppetry are all part of the gallery's past and future...
