About

Modoo Home is sourcing run down and old armchairs around Europe from ready-to-be demolished buildings to private sellers via various portals. They have rescued now 7-8 armchairs and upcycled 6 of them since January when they launched their website www.modoohome.co.uk . The idea is coming from both co-founders’ hobby. “We have been upcycling for our own use and friends for years and love the idea to give something old a new look which than fit into a modern, contemporary home. From this idea we started our company” Says Moni Juhasz, co-founder of Modoo Home.

Modoo Home understands that upcycling is not a new innovation and people have been doing it for years. The way they want to stand out from the crowd is focusing exclusively on armchairs. Keeping a close eye on colour trends and market style demand they are offering style and modern pieces.

The company pays special attention to give each piece a long life by choosing fabrics with Aquaclean technology which is a revolutionary fabric treatment that allows you to clean stains using water. Not only their armchairs but the cushions they are adding to the finished products made from recycled foams and mattresses.

On the 1st of June to extent their collection they are turning to the internet fundraising site, Kickstarter. "Like all Kickstarter projects, it's an all or nothing proposition," adds Modoo Home co-founder Dora Botta. "If we don't meet our fundraising goal of £4.000 nobody gets charged a thing but we hope if we do we extend our collection and invest into more armchairs and in-trend fabrics”.
