Nafisa Haji is an internationally best-selling author of two novels, The Writing on My Forehead and The Sweetness of Tears, a community leader, and an experienced bi-lingual (Spanish) public school teacher. She received her Bachelor’s in American History at U.C. Berkeley and completed a Doctorate in Education at UCLA. She lives in Northern California with her husband and son and is working on a third novel. Nafisa is active in and has previously served as board president of the Marin Interfaith Council, representing the International Association of Sufism. She also serves on the board of Freedom Forward, an organization working to ensure the alignment of American ideals of freedom.
