About

On Saturday, December 6, 2014, the 2ND annual holiday boat parade, "Christmas on the Braden River" will be held starting at dusk at Jiggs Landing, 6106 63rd St E, Bradenton, FL 34203 and will end at Linger Lodge, 7205 85th St Ct E, Bradenton, FL 34202, at approximately 7PM.

In 2013, we attracted 150+ spectators at Jiggs Landing Preserve and we expect more this year. Preparations are being made with Manatee County officials to coordinate and execute a safe fun plan for the event both landside and on the water.

Last year, our event had 18 applicants and 14 actual participants. This consisted of both motorboats and kayaks/canoes. This year we expect the number of applications to rise as well as the spectators. Our goal is to continue this “Old Florida” event and award great prizes at the end. Register your vessel online at www.OldBradenRiver.org today!

The winners this year will be in both categories, power and paddle as follows: Ist prize-Best in Show 2nd prize-Best Illuminated and 3rd prize- Best Florida Cracker. Last year our “text your vote” was so successful, we are doing it again. Six prizes will be awarded at Linger Lodge at the end of the parade. Information about tickets for the after-party are available on our website.

Bring your kids to this FREE Florida family friendly holiday show on H20! A stage that floats upstream along the Braden River past decorated docks and illuminated homes.

The Sheriff's Department will be on the river-overseeing participants in the parade. EMS auxiliary and East Manatee Fire and Rescue to be on hand at Jiggs Landing.

Our local non-profit "Old Braden River Historical Society Inc." is sponsoring the event. Please direct any questions to Denise Kleiner by e-mail denisekleiner@gmail.com or by phone at 941-320-8811.
