Original Dating was founded by Andrew Summersgill, (35) in 2003 when speed dating first arrived in the UK from the United States. The company, which began as a hobby now organises 250 events per year at several venues across London and specialise in speed dating events for young professionals and large scale singles parties.
In summer 2014 Original Dating developed the Mixeo app. The app now powers matchmaking and post event messaging at all of the company’s events. The app is a global first and offers clients a highly streamlined dating event experience. The app records who clients meet, who they liked and the following day displays a list of people they matched with. Furthermore the app offers instant messaging and, at larger scale parties offers a Tinder style photo matching feature and prize allocation.
The company currently operates in London but has plans to expand across the UK and into other English speaking markets globally.
