About

BUXTON’S prestigious five-star Château and Wye House Suites have established an enviable reputation with corporate clients, holidaymakers, festival-goers and other visitors to the town.

Rated as the best hotel in Derbyshire and the Peak District for the last two years  by the influential website ripadvisor, the appropriately renamed Château was built as Corbar Hill House by the Duke of Devonshire in 1840, at the height of Buxton’s heyday as a spa resort. It sits in grand continental style on Corbar Road, which was developed as part of renowned architect Joseph Paxton’s Buxton Park.

An architectural gem, the Grade II-listed Victorian building occupies prime position on the crest of a hill overlooking the historic spa town - with a 30-foot water feature setting the scene for new arrivals.

The interior is far from Victorian in appearance. Each apartment has been beautifully appointed in chic contemporary style, with excellent kitchen and bathroom facilities and spacious rooms.

Wye House has been added by the current owners, Tom and Teresa Law, and their partners Ash and Sara Pigott. The buildings have been designed to complement the distinctive architecture of the Château, with its classical sash and oval windows.
The 20 spacious, serviced apartments can accommodate around 80 people, setting a standard for sumptuous accommodation that the owners are confident is virtually impossible to rival.

Despite their glamour and sheen, the apartments are extremely comfortable and designed for relaxation, with large leather sofas, luxurious Jacuzzi baths and flat screen TVs.

The venue, with free and secure parking, is set in five and-a-half acres of woodland and yet is only a short walk from the town centre, with its restaurants, music and other attractions.
