About

Our team of highly trained physiotherapists, hand therapists and sports massage therapist treat patients across the full spectrum of musculoskeletal, orthopaedic and physical disorders of the human body.

Physiotherapy is a medical allied health care profession primarily concerned with the remediation of impairments and disabilities and the promotion of mobility, functional ability, quality of life and movement potential through examination, evaluation, diagnosis and physical intervention. They diagnose and treat individuals of all ages, from new-borns to the very oldest, who have medical problems or other health-related conditions, illnesses, or injuries that limit their abilities to move and perform functional activities as well as they would like in their daily lives. We have three physiotherapy subdivisions: general, spinal and sports physiotherapy.

Hand therapy plays a major role in the rehabilitation and recovery of patients who have hand or upper extremity injuries. Close communication with the hand/orthopaedic surgeon and patients are key to best client centred rehab programs. Conditions treated range from soft tissue injuries such as tennis elbows to fractured bones to nerve neuropathies such as carpal tunnel syndrome. Treatment modalities include customized splinting; soft braces, education and physical intervention are used during treatment to help return patients to return to their daily functions.

Deep Tissue Massage is the manipulating of superficial and deeper layers of muscle and connective tissue using various techniques, to enhance function, aid in the healing process, decrease muscle reflex activity, inhibits motor-neuron excitability and promote relaxation and well-being. Peer-reviewed medical research has shown that the benefits of massage include pain relief, reduced trait anxiety, temporarily reduces blood pressure, heart rate, and state of anxiety, increasing the flow of lymph, and improving sleep.
