About

Popcorn Horror, is a mobile phone app available on Android/iPhone that offers user generated, bite sized horror thrills including the best short horror films from around the world. New content is added every week.

The company is based in Glasgow, funded through the Starter for 6 programme and supported by Business Gateway, Scottish Development international and Interactive Scotland.

The company was founded by, Felix Gilfedder a filmmaker, camera technician and self-proclaimed film buff.

The app was set up not only to provide a horror thrill on the move but also to find away to create an economy that supports independent filmmakers. Popcorn Horror, is one of only a few companies that pays for short film content and looks to be part of a new generation of businesses that finds ways to create meaningful and sustainable relationships between audiences and content creators in an era of mass and open source content.

Popcorn Horror, is also the first specialist short horror film channel on mobile devices.

In recognition of the quality of our content, the user experience, our pro filmmakers agenda and interaction with our fans the app was selected as a finalist for the Flurry Spot Light competition announced at SXSW this year.
