About

The San Fernando Valley Arts Council, a 501 (C) (3) non‐profit organization since 1973, has provided cultural programs and support to arts education services since 1969. The SFVAC has supported many local arts programs over the years and has contributed to local schools by donating resources and services to Valley arts education. The mission of the San Fernando Valley Arts Council (SFVAC) is to support and promote the appreciation and growth of culture and the arts in the San Fernando Valley. In addition, SFVAC enhances the cultural needs in the Valley by making the arts readily available to residents of all economic, racial, and educational backgrounds. It is our goal to reach out to all areas of the Valley, especially those areas that have been the most underserved. The council is dedicated to improving the quality of life in the community through the encouragement and development of the arts.

The Valley Arts Alliance came about when need for a more unified and powerful umbrella corporation for the Valley’s art organizations became apparent. The VAA merges a number of these well established, Valley based art organizations and creates a collaboration that will bring together over 1,000 artists (visual and performing) for the purpose of consolidating their respective resources, talent, membership and fundamental knowledge of curating and exhibiting art in the San Fernando Valley.

Here are some of our art organizations and performing art companies:

Artists Co-op 7 / California Art League / Collage Artists of America / LA Experimental Artists / Valley Watercolor Society / Women Painters West / Surface Art Association / San Fernando Valley Art Club / Glendale Woodturners / San Fernando Valley Youth Chorus / Center Stage Opera / San Fernando Valley Symphony
