Sock Mob Events is a unique London-based social enterprise that coaches homeless people to lead guided city walking tours. These tours are designed to offer an alternative way of exploring London and to challenge perceptions and stereotypes of homelessness, as they interweave the history of the city and its famous landmarks with stories of street life and what it means to be homeless in the 21st century. Crucially, the tours also help the guides make a living and take positive action for their lives, as they take the majority of ticket revenues. All profits are reinvested to cover costs and help engage more guides.
