About

Soraya Sikander is a painter and sculptor. After graduating from the Beaconhouse National University Lahore in 2008, the artist set-up her studio practice between Karachi, Dubai and London; and worked in a variety of media including woodblock carving, video, and water-based silkscreen prints – these were developed further in 2011 at the Print Club Studio in London. In 2012, Soraya joined UCL’S Slade School of Fine Art, where she produced wooden sculptures wrapped in pipes, mesh and foam, installing these in a variety of settings – and carried out a self-initiated private project of painting cityscapes from memories of her travels. The artist also worked on-location around the areas of Battersea, Highgate, King’s Cross and Wimbledon. Soraya Sikander has held four solo exhibitions and participated in nine group shows and public viewings.
