About

A small-town girl at heart, Susan Hyde captures the essence of little town Americana, from its tightly woven workings to its grace and cordiality, as well as its accepted quirkiness and fierce loyalties.  A Listing Wind returns to the 1920′s to tell a whispered story she had heard in bits and pieces, the trial of a local woman accused of murdering her children.  A former English teacher, she received her B.S. degree in History at Texas A&M University – Commerce, and she holds dual masters degrees from the University of Texas at Arlington in Urban Affairs and from the University of Dallas in Civic Affairs where she wrote The Necessity for Diversity in Civic Leadership.  For 25 years Susan managed multiple political campaigns and volunteered in numerous civic projects before returning to her hometown of Cooper, Texas, to manage an elderly relative’s estate where she re-discovered the joys of small town living.
