About

The Society of St. Vincent de Paul is the oldest charity in Chicago. It started in 1857, and its primary purpose is to serve those in need.

Today, more than 2,265 Vincentian volunteers in Cook and Lake Counties continue to bring hope, help and compassion to the most vulnerable in our society.

In 2010, armed with donations of $4 Million, our conferences, council and thrift stores directly assisted nearly a half-million people with food, shelter, clothing, transportation, and weathering the storms of life in the name of Christ.
