Tamika Humphreys was raised by her grandparents in a poverty-stricken neighborhood in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Her grandfather worked hard to provide for the family, while her grandmother taught her valuable life lessons including the importance of education, family, and community service. One of the most important of these lessons, was the need to stand up for her beliefs and to always do her best. When Tamika became a mother, still a teenager herself, she experienced first-hand how hard it is to provide for and raise a family. Determined to provide a brighter future for her family, Tamika applied the lessons taught by her grandparents and completed her Bachelors degree in 2009 from Kaplan University.
