About

The Big Apple Indie Music Series aka TBAIMS (pronounced "T" "baims") has just hosted their 12th monthly event. The event features a live music showcase and Demo Listening Session. The feedback has been amazing from both the independent music artists and the Music Industry Executives that attend every month. Jon Landers, the Founder and CEO of TBAIMS sees nothing but momentum going into 2014. Mr. Landers secured the support of Reverbnation by providing one submission per month on their website for any music artist that provided their epk at no cost to the artist. For January alone, TBAIMS received just over 2300 submissions within a 300 mile radius of New York City. In addition, any artist can submit their epk to TalentArmyPromotions for a $15 submission fee to help support INDIE MUSIC and keep the TBAIMS events free for aspiring artists everywhere. TBAIMS will choose up to 4 music artists from TAP (TalentArmy Promotions) to perform at their events each month. TalentArmyPromotions typically receives about 100 submissions per month.

TBAIMS looks at various criteria to choose the artists that submit their epks (electronic press kit). In addition to listening to studio recorded tracks, TBAIMS likes to view videos of live performances to see what the stage presence is like and to make sure they don't sound pitchy performing live. Another aspect to consider is the ability of the artist to promote themselves in today's competitive environment and by reviewing the artists fan base, TBAIMS looks at the number of followers on Twitter, likes on Facebook, subscriptions on YouTube to help determine whether or not the artist is ready for the hi level exposure TBAIMS will bring to them. TBAIMS expects the artists chosen to perform at their events to be able to bring a minimum number of fans, friends or family to the events they perform at. This also helps the A&R industry executives in attendance (and watching the live broadcast) see how well these artists' music appeals to a large audience.

Another new feature TBAIMS has brought to each event that brings other music artists to the events is their new Music Pitch Session in the first hour of each event. For just $20 any music artist, (whether performng live that night or not), can purchase a 5 minute pitch session with any of the up to 10 or more A&R industry executives that attend to get a one on one opportunity to have their music heard and get some feedback from them. This is a win/win for both the music artists and the A&R industry executives. For the music artists, they can purchase up to five or more 5 minute pitch sessions to use with the various A&R executives to find the right fit for connecting their music should one of the different genres that an A&R is looking for fits their criteria. For the A&R executives, they can spend some quality time at one venue to listen to up to 12 different artists material in an hour as opposed to trying to fight their way through NYC traffic to go to several different venues and listen to only a few different artists.

TBAIMS simply wants to become the number one go to for any and all serious independent music artists to perform at and to be able to connect them with the industry executives they bring each month in the New York City market. Once well established in New York, TBAIMS will be expanding to other major music cities across North America and eventually globally. Judging by the media attention and artist reviews of their events, they are well on their way. TBAIMS was already contacted by the marketing arm of America's Got Talent to submit some of their performing artists to the last auditions that were held in New York City in November at Mercedes. TBAIMS acquired five "front of the line" passes for that audition event.

TBAIMS will continue to develop relationships with many music related events across the globe going forward.

TBAIMS also supports several non-profit organizations including Why Hunger, New York Collaborates for Autism and the Armed Forces through BrewSA Beer, a sponsor that makes its beer in the USA and donates 25% of its profits to veteran charities.
