The Pet Plate was designed by a family of animal lovers through trial and error. Bandit, their Shih Tzu Poodle mix was always a fussy eater and for many years, ate off a paper plate. Disgusted by the unsanitariness and unappealing look of a paper plate, the principals developed a more aesthetically pleasing alternative that most finicky pets love. The Pet Plate was developed by Kristen Boie and Alan Comello, principal owners of KAC Industries.
