About

Founded in 2009 under the name Musical Diplomacy, The Sounding Board has created multiple productions aiming to instigate social change through the arts. Performing music from Bach to hip-hop & addressing events from Guantanamo Bay to Barack Obama’s Presidency, TSB incorporates lighting & staging design, multi-media components, and commentary from celebrities and noted public figures to inspire new perspectives and cultivate dialogue on today’s most pressing social issues. Past participants have included Pulitzer-prize winning composer & author Gunther Schuller, Emmy-nominated composer & performer Daniel Bernard Roumain, and luminaries from distinguished institutions including The Boston Globe, The National Defense University, Tufts’ Fletcher School, Northeastern University and New England Conservatory. Future collaborators will include Brad Ellis, the pianist on FOX’s Golden Globe winning TV show Glee, the Boston Mayor’s Office, & the United Nations.
