Paul Tompkins, B.Comm., LL.B., CLU, TEP, FEA, President of Tompkins Insurance Services Ltd., along with his staff and strategic partners, specializes in advising and implementing life insurance based solutions for high-net-worth individuals and families as part of their overall estate planning process.

For over the past twenty years, Paul has built a solid foundation of reputable clients, including several of Canada's ultra high net worth families and many highly regarded executives.  As a completely independent insurance broker, Paul and his team will provide analysis and advice, and can access product solutions from all insurance companies.

Paul received his Bachelor of Commerce from the University of British Columbia and his Bachelor of Law from Queen's University.  He practiced tax and corporate law in Vancouver and moved to Toronto in 1987 to form Tompkins Insurance Services Ltd.  He and his team have since become recognized by leading accounting and legal firms across Canada as experts in the use of life insurance in trust and estate planning.  Paul delivers information seminars to these firms on the use of life insurance on an ongoing basis.

Paul is able to provide clients and their advisors access to legal, accounting and actuarial experts from the various companies with which he is associated.

Paul is a former contributing editor to "Insurance Planning", a national quarterly publication from Federated Press.  He has also published papers for Federated Press and the Law Society of Upper Canada on life insurance issues.  Paul has completed the UBC Sauder School Family Enterprise Advisor program and earned his FEA designation. Paul is a member of the Life Insurance Advisory Board for Manulife Financial and Munich Re (Canada's largest reinsurer).

Paul is a long standing member and former chairman of the Conference for Advanced Life Underwriters (CALU), and a member of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP). Paul is a current director on the board of Crescent School, an independent school for boys, and is co-chair of their $30mm Capital Campaign. Paul is also a member of the Campaign Cabinet for Pathways to Education, a national charity aimed at reducing high school dropout rates. He lives in Toronto with his wife and four children.
