Umu Igbo Unite is a non-profit US based organization that consists of a wide range of young professionals and college students of Igbo heritage residing in the US. Our membership targets people from all parts of the South-Eastern Igbo speaking states of Nigeria including: Abia, Anambra, Delta, Ebonyi, Enugu, Imo, Bayelsa, Akwa-Ibom, Cross-River and Rivers states.

Since 2005, Umu Igbo Unite has held an annual convention each year which consists of many events aimed at Igbo professionals. People from other cultural backgrounds and ethnicity that are interested in learning more about the Igbo culture are welcome to attend.

The purpose of the Umu Igbo Unite Organization is to promote personal, cultural and professional growth amongst Nigerian Igbo Professionals primarily in Diaspora. This goal shall be achieved by:

Providing a forum where Igbo professionals can network professionally, culturally and socially and share their experiences in the hopes of contributing positively to the growth and progress of Igbo’s.

Initiating, encouraging and supporting innovative Igbo business ideas and existing businesses that have the potential to improve the quality of life of Nigerians.

Contributing positively towards improvement of quality of life in Nigeria, through outreach programs, creating of awareness of health and social issues, and donation of time and resources.

Promoting unity, co-operation and general empowerment amongst Igbo professionals.

The Organization shall fulfill these purposes by galvanizing Igbo professionals in the United States of America (USA) under one organization which shall promote and facilitate the achievement of the objectives and programs and encourage the proud participation and shared sense of responsibility among Igbo professionals to support Igbo businesses and efforts through collective and individual giving.

Membership is open to all college students, young professionals, friends and supporters of the organization.
