UNITAN Communications™ was founded in 1991andis a part of University Talent Network created in 1989.

UNITAN Communications™ is a full service public relations and event management firm.  It provides service in media relations and communications and is results-driven and committed to quality. UNITAN also produces the Mr. Collegiate African-American Scholarship Pageant (1990) and the Miss Collegiate America/USA Scholarship Pageant (2002), the Miss Collegiate™ (2008) the Miss and Ms. American/USA Plus Pageant and the Ms. Collegiate Mom Scholarship Pageants (2010) and the Miss Collegiate USA™ Pageant (2011).

The founder has assisted in the career development and enhancement of Dellenor Miles (Sister Ella), Terry Ellis (EnVogue), Chris Martin (DJ Premier-Gang Starr), Monique Ridge (Under One Roof), Beyonce (Destiny’s Child formerly Girl’s Time), J. Stone, Troy Hogan (Friday Night Ligths) and KiKi. Our clients included Andre’ Pitre (In the Nick of Time), Norton Campbell, Mary Ann Palmer (Country Vocalist), Belinda Coney, Carlena Lewis, Marlon Jackson and D.D. Bret (Da Duchess of Blues and Zydeco Country).

The president also founded the Jazz Music Association, Black Country Music Association,  ELLFUR Publishing (ASCAP), the Frederick Douglass Leadership and Garvey Academy. Created or supported PVAMU groups: Eclipse, Infinity, BasIs, Sincerely Yours, Nappy Head Kuzins, and Ideal.

Additionally the found created Collegiate 100 (1993), the 100 Collegiate Women of America™ (2011) and Collegiate 100 Women™ (2011)
