Suresh Neethirajan, Professor in the Biological and Biomedical Engineering program of the University of Guelph, Canada is the recipient of the NABEC section of American Society of Agricultural and Biological Engineer's 2015 Young Engineer of the Year Award. NABEC-ASABE honoured Suresh for his outstanding contributions to the advancement of the Agricultural/Biological Engineering Profession and presented the award held at Delware, Newark on July 12, 2015 at the annual meeting. NABEC ASABE (http://nabec.asabe.org) is American Society of Agricultural and Biological Engineers (ASABE) organization comprising over 40 Universities across the Northeast United States and Eastern Canadian Provinces. Universities in Washington DC-Maryland, Ohio and former Connecticut Valley, North Atlantic, East Lake Ontario, Pennsylvania, Nova Scotia, Quebec and Ontario are part of NABEC.

Dr. Neethirajan's research focuses on developing tools and techniques for food safety, animal health and biological engineering applications through the fundamental and applied understanding of physico-chemical properties of bacterial biofilms and development of bio-sensing techniques. He is currently serving as the Vice President (Technical) for the Canadian Society for Bioengineering and as the Chair of the Emerging Technologies committee of the international division of American Society of Agricultural and Biological Engineers.
