Baseball Blast For Kids
PETCO Park - San Diego, California
Local Engineer Steve Austin is organizing the “Baseball Blast for Kids” community event to provide inner city kids and children of deployed military personnel the opportunity to attend a professional baseball game.
Steve is working closely with the Jackie Robinson YMCA and members of the Vista Grande Community Church Men’s Fellowship in Tierrasanta to benefit kids from the Lincoln Park, Murphy Canyon Military Housing and other deserving areas throughout central and southeast San Diego
“Baseball Blast for Kids” is scheduled for Sunday September 26th at PETCO Park where the Padres take on the Cincinnati Reds game at 1:05 pm. Steve Austin created this project while participating in a Landmark Education Leadership Program where part of the coursework was to create a project that benefits the community. Landmark Education is an international training and development company known for their flagship course The Landmark Forum (www.landmarkeducation.com).
Says Steve, “Everybody I know has great memories of the first professional baseball game they attended as a kid. ‘Baseball Blast for Kids’ will give that thrill to a lot of children who might not get the opportunity otherwise.”
