Established in 2001, the mission of the Arkansas Democratic Hispanic Caucus is to increase political participation of Hispanics living in Arkansas. Through voter registration, education and political outreach, the Hispanic Caucus seeks to increase awareness of Hispanic issues, mentor Hispanic candidates and support the Democratic Party of Arkansas. The Hispanic Caucus aims to increase educational, economic and social opportunities while preserving the cultural heritage of Hispanic Arkansans.
The goals of the Hispanic Caucus are to:

Conduct workshops and programs to educate and train Hispanic Democrats to participate in voter training, outreach, political education, and legislative advocacy.
Assist Democratic legislative organizations and legislators in establishing relationships with members of the Hispanic Caucus.
Educate all Democrats in the cultural history and current issues that concern Hispanics in Arkansas.
Maintain a relationship with the state party and assist in disseminating party information to Hispanic Caucus members.

The Hispanic Caucus supports the Democratic principles of empowering all citizens and to continue the fight against discrimination, deprivation of rights on the basis of race, gender, national origin, religion, age, sexual orientation, socioeconomic status, disability or any other characteristic unrelated to ability.

The Hispanic Caucus believes in:
Equal opportunity for all Hispanics in Arkansas.
Latino voter education, registration and participation in the political process.
Equal access to quality, affordable health care for Hispanics in Arkansas.
Equal access to educational opportunities.
Maintaining a strong national and state economy while being fiscally responsible.
Comprehensive immigration reform.
Preserving the cultural heritage of Hispanic Arkansans.
Protecting Social Security, Medicare, and Medicaid.
Being good stewards of the environment.
The politics of inclusion by offering membership to all people who support our mission, beliefs and the purposes of the Democratic Party.
