About

In December 1967 a party of Swiss travellers flew, for the first time, from Basle to Mombasa in order to escape the cold of the European winter and fell in love with Kenyas fascinating wildlife, stunning landscapes and natural beauty.

Their enthusiasm for sharing this beautiful country with other travellers led to the creation of a group of Companies of which African Safari Club is part. Their enthusiasm continues to this day with the same philosophy of offering an affordable and unparalleled holiday experience in one of Africas most fascinating and diverse countries.

From small beginnings the group now control ten hotels on the Kenyan coast and six safari lodges and camps. We have our own transfer and safari vehicles as well as a fleet of light aircraft to fly you directly to the wilderness game reserves from our private airstrip.

Our infrastructure also includes African Safari Airways who own an Airbus A310-308 aircraft which operates between various European gateways and Mombasa, several times a week.

In 1990 we became the proud owners of the 5,600 ton M.S. Royal Star. This charming yacht-like ship has since offered a year round programme of cruises to the idyllic and relatively uncommercialised islands of the Indian Ocean.

In 2006, we launched a year round programme of Nile Cruises. Working closely with one of Egypts biggest tour companies, our nile cruise boat, the Five Star 'M.S. Star of Luxor', is reserved exclusively for African Safari Clubs guests.
