About

Air Ambulance Professionals Inc (AAPI) is an Air Medical Transport Program based in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Established in 1989, Air Ambulance Professionals has safely transported over 7000 critical care patients worldwide.

Since the purpose of the Air Medical Transport Industry is to provide the highest level of patient care possible, AAPI became accredited by CAMTS (Commission on Accreditation of Medical Transport Services) in 2007 and EURAMI (European Air Medical Transport Institute) in 2008.  By meeting the meticulous benchmark of standards on both a North American and European level, AAPI is able to offer the best of industry standards globally.

On July 17th, 2010 AAPI became re-accredited by CAMTS as a "Fully Accredited" air medical transport program. For those unfamiliar with CAMTS (Commission on Accreditation of Transport Systems), the organization serves as a voluntary standard writing and verification organization. The goal of CAMTS is to provide standards that reflect a high quality, safe, and stable medical transport service. Some of the values include: fairness, ethics, consistency, accountability, and the patient and transport safety focus (Frazier, 2010).

Although not mandatory nationwide, states including: Colorado, Maryland, Utah, Washington, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New Mexico, and Oklahoma require all medical transport programs to be CAMTS accredited in order to qualify for a state license. Other states including Texas and Rhode Island have adopted the CAMTS standards in their own policies and procedures to be considered for state license.

Air Ambulance Professional was the FIRST Air Medical transport Program in the WORLD to hold both highly recognized industry accreditations, resulting in "Pioneer Status" within the industry.

Air Ambulance Professionals continues to operate by it's slogan: "Caring at a Higher Level...."
