About

Welcome to the Alaska State Fair, home of record-setting giant vegetables and beautiful flower gardens.  Nestled in the heart of the Chugach Mountains, in the fertile Matanuska-Susitna Valley, the Fairgrounds are just an hour north of Anchorage. Each Fall, the Fair provides a setting for Alaska's last blast of summer, a showcase of Alaska's uniqueness and beauty.

We invite you to visit the Fair and also take advantage of the year-round services the Alaska State Fair has to offer including horse shows, facility rentals, concerts, trade shows, and winter RV & boat storage.

Our interim events continue to grow including the Cabin Fever Reliever concert series, typically held January through March, the Garden and Art Festival held mid-summer, the Mighty Matanuska Brewfest & Auction which debuted in October 2008, and our annual Holiday Ball held in December.
