THREE ERAS OF OIL DISCOVERY
1. The First Era: Vertical Drilling
Beginning in the nineteenth century, oil discovery transformed civilization. Vertical drilling opened the door to a resource that would become indispensable to transportation, manufacturing, agriculture, and countless modern applications. What began as a search for a valuable commodity ultimately helped power the industrial world.
2. The Second Era: Horizontal Drilling
Horizontal drilling and hydraulic fracturing unlocked enormous shale resources and helped establish the United States as a global leader in oil and natural gas production. Yet decades of exploration and development have also left millions of existing wells, including capped, abandoned, and uneconomical wells that contain recoverable hydrocarbons.
3. The 2.3 Era: Angel Labs and Raphial R. G. Morgado!
Now comes a different approach: pursuing innovative methods to recover additional oil from existing wells and applying simpler processing concepts intended to reduce costs.
After approximately ten years in Texas studying the oil and gas industry, Angel Labs has continued exploring opportunities to apply Morgado’s inventions and innovations to this challenge.
