Arkonyk is a payments intelligence and consulting company built around a simple observation: most of the friction, cost, and fraud leakage in card payments traces back to two things merchants systematically get wrong — how their charges show up on a cardholder's statement, and how well they actually understand what they're paying in processing fees. Arkonyk builds products and offers consulting to fix both.
Descriptors.com is a billing descriptor registry. Billing descriptors — the merchant name that appears on a cardholder's bank or credit card statement — are one of the most under-managed pieces of the payments stack. A mismatched or unrecognizable descriptor is a leading driver of "I don't recognize this charge" disputes, which cost merchants in chargebacks, in Visa/Mastercard excessive-dispute program penalties (VAMP, GMAP/ACMP, SMMP), and in erosion of customer trust. Descriptors.com gives merchants, PSPs, and acquirers a way to manage, standardize, and troubleshoot descriptors so that what shows up on a statement actually matches what the customer bought — reducing "friendly fraud" disputes at the source instead of fighting them after the fact.
FeeSuite is a payment statement reconciliation tool. Merchant processing statements are notoriously opaque — bundled rates, inconsistent line items, interchange pass-through that's hard to audit, and fee structures designed to resist easy comparison. FeeSuite parses and reconciles these statements so merchants can see what they're actually being charged, catch billing errors or rate creep, and benchmark their true cost of acceptance against what they should be paying.
Arkitekt is Arkonyk's consulting arm, focused on merchant payment stack evaluation — essentially bringing in outside expertise to audit a merchant's acquiring relationships, fraud tooling, and dispute management setup, then make recommendations grounded in real cost-of-payments data rather than vendor sales pitches. It's aimed at merchants who suspect they're overpaying or under-protected but don't have the in-house payments expertise to know for sure.
The through-line across all three: payments and fraud vendors sell a lot of marketing-driven complexity, and most merchants don't have the visibility to evaluate whether it's justified. Arkonyk's products and consulting work are built to give merchants that visibility directly — plain data on descriptors, fees, and stack performance — rather than another layer of managed service they have to trust blindly.
