Chris Blackmon (CEO)
Chris graduated from the University of Georgia with a major in international business with a real estate focus and a minor in Japanese. Upon graduation, he worked at the Center for Study Abroad in Kobe, Japan before returning to start his Athens, GA real estate career concentrating on commercial properties. He has previously co-chaired the Business Neighborhood Alliance with the Athens Area Chamber of Commerce and served as the commercial representative for the Agent Advisory Council. He currently serves as a member of the Athens Donwtown Development Authority.
Matt Thomas (President)
Matt Thomas graduated from the University of Georgia in 2000 and immediately delved into the real estate arena, first in Atlanta and then in Athens and the northeast Georgia area. In 2003 and 2004, he was in the top 10% of Coldwell Banker agents worldwide. In 2004, he was named ‘Athens Best Realtor’ by the Athens Banner-Herald’s Readers Choice Awards, and in 2005 and 2006, Thomas was in the top 3% of Coldwell Banker agents worldwide. In 2007, Matt co-founded Atlas Real Estate Advisors with business partner Chris Blackmon. In addition to his managing his business, Matt is also involved in multiple Athens-area charitable and civic organizations.
David Dwyer (Manging Director)
David’s real estate experience includes investment management, operations, development, strategy, policy, and transactions; and in all product classes including Office, Industrial, Retail, and Multi-Family, Mixed-Use. He has created and executed strategic plans for both private and institutional portfolios. He has vast experience with the public sector at Local, State, and Federal levels from small (rezone) scale to large (city-sponsored revitalization requiring Federal Agency Cooperation). David’s career-path lead him to Atlas Real Estate Advisors in 2011, where he serves as the managing director.

Colby Smith (Residential Investments)
Colby graduated from Georgia Southern University with a Bachelor of Business Administration with a focus on Human Resources Management. He has more than ten years of experience working in the hospitality industry, ranging from casual dining to five star resorts. In 2008, Colby decided to apply his vast customer service experience to the real estate profession in Athens, GA . After four years in the property management business in Athens, Colby joined Atlas Real Estate Advisors in 2011, where he specializes in residential investments.
