About

Axon Education LLC, dba Texas EMS School provides online programs in Texas for individuals wishing to become an EMT, Advanced EMT, or Paramedic.

PARAMEDIC PROGRAM OVERVIEW

The Paramedic program consists of four components – online coursework, hands-on Skills Labs, clinical / field experiences, and a Capstone field internship. Each stage of our program is crucial in making sure you have the confidence and training necessary to help patients and gain the certification you require to obtain a license.

Online Coursework

The Texas EMS School online learning environment emphasizes content, not class time. The Paramedic program is developed using adaptive learning technologies that assess what you already know and only provide homework assignments for areas in which you are struggling. That means that you can move forward as you master concepts and spend more time on content that addresses your weaknesses.

The online coursework for the Paramedic program should be completed within 16 months. However many students complete the work in a shorter period of time. All components of the program – including coursework, hands-on Skills Labs, clinical / field experiences, and capstone internship – must be completed within 18 months.

If you have a laptop, tablet, or smartphone with internet access, you have the basic tools you need to get started.

Hands-On Skills Labs

During hands-on Skills Labs, you’ll have an opportunity to practice, receive feedback on, and demonstrate your Paramedic psychomotor skills.

To complete this portion of the program, you’ll be required to attend a minimum of three Skills Labs. Skills Labs typically take place over two days at Texas EMS School’s training facility in Abilene, Texas or at a location throughout Texas. Additional locations may be available from time to time. Contact our student support team to find out about dates and locations that may work best for you.

Clinical and Field Experiences

You’ll participate in clinical / field experiences at leading hospitals, clinics, and ambulance services in Texas. During this phase of the program, you’ll gain hands-on experience and have an opportunity to put your skills into practice in real-life situations – all while being guided by experienced EMS and medical personnel.

Capstone Internship

You’ll serve as the Lead Paramedic on an ambulance at a 911 ambulance service in Texas, while providing direction to your peers and practicing at the highest level of EMS Care.

Capstone internships are effective for networking within the local area and our Paramedic program in Texas helps you to accumulate real-world experience that you can include on your professional resume.
