GradeSense is building AI-powered grading infrastructure for the Indian education system.
The problem is simple: a teacher in India spends 500 hours a year grading papers, 62 working days of repetitive, manual work. A 1,000-student PU college generates over 13,000 handwritten booklets per exam cycle. Grading takes 3 weeks. Students get feedback too late to act on it. NEP 2020 has mandated continuous assessment, tripling the exam volume without adding a single new teacher.
GradeSense solves this. Teachers scan answer sheets using their mobile phone, a full batch takes 10 minutes. The AI evaluates every paper against a teacher-defined rubric in 30 minutes. The teacher reviews, overrides anything they disagree with, and publishes results. What used to take 3 weeks now takes 2 hours.
The platform is built specifically for the Indian exam system, handwritten answers, descriptive reasoning, regional curriculum, and subjects like Accounts, Business Studies, Economics, and Science. Accuracy is 90%+ on tested papers.
GradeSense currently serves PU colleges and coaching institutes, including CA Foundation and competitive exam centers. Pricing is ₹20,000 per month per institution, a fraction of what institutions currently spend on manual evaluation, with a 7x ROI on teacher time saved.
Long-term, GradeSense is building end-to-end exam infrastructure: question paper generation, grading, student analytics, and personalized learning, starting with the grading data layer that every institution already needs today.
