The organization initiatives have been firmly rooted in practical measures to improve the movements of pro-democracy and the conducts monitoring on the full range of human rights abuses in Burma. Our organization document individual cases and to submit to the international Human Rights bodies.

Burma Democratic Concern is dedicated to

{1} Restore democracy and human rights in Burma, and to give humanitarian assistance to Burmese people who are suffering under the brutal military dictatorship.

{2} Liberate Burmese people from repressive regime and establish democratic country.

{3} Free dissident prisoners and to protect them from torture, inhumane and degrading treatment in detention.

{4} Educate, health care and social security of Burmese people.

Burma Democratic Concern is currently lobbying these issues

{1} United Nations Security Council to issue the binding resolution on Burma to resolve the crisis

{2} Human Rights Council, United Nation High Commissioner for Human Rights, International Labour Organisation and International Criminal Court to take action on Human Rights violation cases of Burma

{3} to present United Nation Secretary General Special Representative’s office in Burma to facilitate the dialogue process and to monitor the progress

{4} to increase more awareness

{5} to recognize the 1990 election’s result by the Burmese Regime and to transfer power to National League for Democracy which won the election by 89% of the vote

Burma Democratic Concern had achieved in raising awareness about Human rights violations and urgent medical needs for political prisoners inside Burma to United Nation special Rapporteur on Burma.

On 7th of February, “A United Nations human rights investigator called on Myanmar's junta on Tuesday to provide urgent medical care to ailing demonstrators and activists imprisoned since its bloody crackdown on dissent last year. Paulo Sergio Pinheiro, U.N. special rapporteur on human rights in Myanmar, said he had received reports expressing "serious concerns regarding the health conditions of some of the prisoners who require immediate care and specific medication."
