Biodex Medical Systems, Inc. Named Winner of the Prestigious Workforce Development Award at the
HIA-LI 13th Annual Workforce Development Conference

Hauppauge, New York, July 11, 2011-Biodex Medical Systems, Inc. is pleased to announce it was recognized as a recipient of the 2011 Workforce Development Award from the HIA-LI, a leading voice for businesses on Long Island. The company was presented a certificate at the HIA-LI Workforce Development Conference Executive Breakfast held at St. Joseph's College in Patchogue on June 30th and was chosen from an outstanding pool of Long Island-based businesses.
"Biodex is honored to be named the winner of the 2011 HIA-LI Workforce Conference award," said Gary Barello, Vice President of Human Resources & Organizational Development, adding, "This award recognizes the efforts of Biodex to serve its employees with wellness programs featuring on-site health fairs, screenings and lectures. Biodex is committed to being proactive when it comes to serving the employees' wellbeing. We are very fortunate to have a CEO who views employees as the company's greatest asset." Other programs are designed for employee advancement through an education assistance program and an annual awards presentation for outstanding results in the company's wellness program, branded as BIOFIT.
The award was also given to Biodex in acknowledgment of its community outreach programs. "The Biodex volunteer program provides paid time-off to employees who assist in charitable organizations' events," explained Barello. Biodex works with both local and national charities such as the American Cancer Society, American Heart Association, Toys-for-Tots, Long Island Cares, Island Harvest, Family Service League, Camp Pa-Qua-Tuck and has raised over $11,000 in the first half of 2011.
For over 30-years the HIA-LI has helped Long Island businesses prosper through programs and initiatives designed to bring recognition and growth to the region. "HIA-LI is pleased to recognize Biodex Medical Systems with our 2011 Workforce Development Award," said Terri Alessi-Miceli, President of the association, adding, "The award is recognition in terms of what companies are doing proactively for their company culture and employees."
