About

Jai ‘JB’ Brady

While growing up in Atco, NJ, Jai always was told that he was a talented and gifted young individual, but it was his grandmother Edna Brady, who recognized Jai’s talent and constantly pushed him toward a life in the entertainment industry.  At nine years old, Jai was already on a path that would eventually lead him into artist management and eventually record label executive duties.  Jai was approached by many local recording  acts to travel with them and perform various tasks from carrying cases of records to working alongside sound engineers and the like.  This was simply an introduction into what would later turn into being approached by local and regional talent to manage their careers.  At age 18, while attending Rutger’s University in NJ, Jai was also working at the Spectrum in Philadelphia, Pa, which was the largest and most sought after venue to perform in in the NE aside from Madison Square Garden in NY.  During this time Jai was approached by Electric Factory Concerts Stage manager Lee Johnson, who had an interest in Jai, not only for his intellect and attention to detail but also for his ability to handle then national recording acts that performed at the Spectrum such as Bruce Springstein,  AC DC, Rod Stewart,  MC Hammer, Will Smith and many more national and international recording acts.  Because of Jai’s access to these individuals  the list of up and coming recording acts that wanted to do business with Jai and be managed by him grew rapidly.

Jai graduated from Rutger’s with a BA in Economics in 1992, soon after he began working for a management company Darrell Jenkins Mgmt based out of Camden, NJ.  This position required Jai to gain knowledge in the fields of A&R and Artist development as well as road management.  The most notable client on the company’s roster was Kwame’ who at the time was signed to Atlantic Records.  Jai  finally got his big break and was able to successfully guide his career to platinum status with the release of the  Platinum single “Onee Ou”

At the age of 24, Jai then moved to Atlanta, ga where he began managing the career of Father MC (Tim Brown) while on Luke Records, while unable to get a solid release date on his clients album, Jai was then forced to opt out of the recording agreement between his client Father MC and then label president Luther ‘Uncle Luke’ Cambell.

Shortly thereafter, Jai was offered the position of Senior VP A&R over at Shang Records.  This was Jai’s first opportunity to work at a label as an executive.  This was no ordinary company,  The CEO of Shang Records, Clifton ‘Specialist’ Dillon was at the time the hottest international producer credited with producing and jump starting the careers of Shabba Ranks, Patra, Bounty Killa and Mad Cobra.  Jai was hired especially to handle the label’s newest signing, Ky-mani (pronounced Ki-maan-nee), son of legendary reggae artist Bob Marley.  Jai handled day to day duties as well as coordinating and cultivating the creative process of developing albums.  During his tenure Ky-mani released ‘The Journey (Shang/Gee Street/V2 Records) and ‘Many More Roads’ (AO).  Jai also acted as Ky-mani’s road manager on all major european, carribbean and US tours.

Jai was also had the opportunity to work with Ky-mani and ‘Specialist’ on the set of Ky-mani’s first major motion picture “Shottas”.  During this period in Jai career he was able to experience the inner workings involved in creating a major motion picture.

Soon after departing Shang Records in Miami, FL, Jai decided that it was time to venture out and create his own label situation.  The knowledge gained through the years gave him the confidence and credibility to create his own label, Boy Boy Entertainment L.L.C.  Based out of Atlanta, Ga since 2006.  Jai is the co-founder along with first cousin Paul Evans and have a roster consisting of both regional and national Hip Hop and R&B artists as well as multi platinum producers ‘The DREAM TEAM’.

Jai ‘JB’ Brady is a charismatic powerhouse who forces those to see him and stop and listen.  He is highly sought after label executive who can bring excitement, experience and stability to any project.
