About

Theater Arts at Caltech celebrates interdisciplinary learning, artistic risk-taking, and the spirit of innovation, curiosity, collaboration, and experimentation that scientists and artists share. The faculty, artists, students, volunteers, and alumni involved in the department bring a diverse range of talents and ideas to the curriculum and the ambitions productions we launch each year. Of particular interested in the department is the development of new plays. Recent productions include 'Big Love,' 'The Rover,' 'Rashomon,' 'Metamorphosis,' and 'The Tempest'; the musicals 'Rent' and 'The Little Shop of Horrors'; and many new plays by Los Angeles-area playwrights that receive staged readings during MACH 33: The Festival of New Science-Driven Plays at Caltech.
