About

Founded in 1977, the Canadian Orpheus Male Choir (COMC) comprises men from various backgrounds, ages 19+. Our extensive repertoire covers popular tunes, spirituals, songs from musicals, hymns, opera choruses, ballads, traditional and folk songs.

Our Patrons are conductor Boris Brott, community leader Brad Clark, tenor Richard Margison, and Hamilton's longest serving mayor (retired) and musician Bob Morrow.

Over the past 35+ years, we have performed with many talented and well-known guest artists, notably the bass-baritone Bryn Terfel, vocalist Carissa Kimbell, celtic band Scantily Plaid, violinist Martin Beaver, The Blazing Fiddles, soprano Abigail Freeman, the Canadian Brass and the Central Band of the Canadian Armed Forces, among others.

Concert tours have brought us to the United States, Western Canada, the Maritimes, Continental Europe, England and Ireland. We are proud to have performed more than 460 concerts in venues such as the National Arts Centre in Ottawa; Roy Thomson Hall in Toronto; St. Paul's Cathedral, Westminster Abbey, the Royal Festival Hall and Royal Albert Hall in London.
