About

Little Book Shoppe of Carthage was an idea of Ms. Donna L. Quesinberry for the quaint Town of Carthage North Carolina where a rich Scottish immigrant history began in the mid-1700s, noted as a home on a high hill. Further growth ensued through the Tyson and Jones Cadillac of Carriages manufacturing plant of the early 1900's. The Carthage Historic Association shares an abundance of wondrous stories of these early entrepreneurial settlers who maintained a strong faith in things unseen, which resulted in Carthage becoming the County Seat for Moore County, North Carolina - commonly referred to as "Sweet Carthage."

Little Book Shoppe in Carthage builds on these early Scottish settlers' determination through the provision of developmental arts, and community services, in the form of our bookstore, which will feature eclectic arts and crafts as well (i.e.: artwork, beaded curtains, clothing, jewelry, make-up, metal work, pottery, scarves, throws, woodworking, etc.) as artisans, books and gifts where even our furry friends are welcome . . .

The Little Book Shoppe in Carthage shares a vision of a haberdasher's menagerie that features art, books, entertainment and gifts paired with our belief in building through networking (not competing) with "local" small business owners throughout Moore County, Central Carolina and beyond.

Authors are coming to celebrate reading and their titles, in our little Town of Carthage. Already, the Little Book Shoppe in Carthage is gaining significant interest regarding featured workshops, seminars and/or training services. Of course, a children's story time is going to be featured to include musicians, puppeteers, storytellers, and other talented folks who love to entertain children, young adults and adults alike. A small eatery is intended to provide high-end infused waters, cocoa, coffee, teas and wines as well as baker's items, organic and vegan indulgences and treats for our furry friends who can endure public exposure.

We all need a place to visit where time can be forgotten, comfort is a natural outcome during your visit, and senses can be awakened in a tranquil, yet charming environment.
