Over the years, Charleston Balloon Company has had a few faces and names. What started as a small, home based, party planning business known as Celebrated Times, was the dream of a mother (Jill Shortreed) who loved throwing birthday parties for her children and family. After moving into a small store front on The Jersey Shore the world of balloons was introduced by the late Linda Bruce from Pioneer Balloon Company. Soon expanding not once, but twice Jill was able to create a highly successful; full service party and rental store.

Following the events of 9/11, her husband was presesentd with a job transfer to South Carolina. Jill made the tough decision to dismantle the business and to put down roots in the Charleston area alongside her husband and 5 children (no that is not a typo, there are 5 children) After much deliberation and with the support of her husband, she decided to reopen and continue her successful journey, in 2010 the transition to only balloons and balloon related products was made and Charleston Balloon Company has been growing ever since.
