RCP Foods LLC, an independently-owned, plant-based food company, makes Cheri's HazelCream, a one-to-one dairy free substitute especially formulated for cooking and baking. It also tastes great as a glass of milk, in cereal, or even in cocktails.

Made using Oregon hazelnuts, it has a mild dairy-like flavor and leaves no hazelnut aftertaste when used in cooking. Unique packaging as a paste in premeasured portion cups allows the consumer to control the richness of the finished product. The product is placed in a blender and depending on the amount of water added can product milk, cream or can be made into buttermilk.

What began as a home experiment, turned into a quest to help others who have challenges with dairy milk.  Cheri Redgrave, founder, and brand ambassador tells the story. "I love to cook. But at the age of 62, I was diagnosed with four food allergies including wheat, eggs, dairy, and of all things, peas. After much trial and error, I eventually found good substitutions for all of these ingredients except dairy." Thus started a two year journey of discovery trials, and experiments to find a suitable dairy replacement that tastes remarkably similar to dairy.

The product was announced in July 2021 and is now available online and in select stores and restaurants in Oregon, with wider distribution planned for 2022.
