Companies include banks, medical clinics, higher education institutions, public school systems, city and county governments and more.

JESAP™is state-of-the-art software combined with an expert-developed, industry-proven methodology, or process. Taking into account both market rates and your company's ability to pay, JESAP™ helps you scientifically determine the appropriate pay for virtually every job in your company.

DB Squared affiliate Johanson Group, a management consulting firm, developed the JESAP™ methodology is 1985. The firm has used the process to perform hundreds of compensation studies for various clients. In 2001 Johanson Group developed JESAP™ software for internal use only and has since used the program in nearly 100 different studies. The software has a proven track record of success in many types of firms, including large and small private companies, governments and higher education institutions.

Written using industry-standard software development tools from Microsoft, JESAP™ software is user-friendly and intuitive. It features a modular design to ease the addition of new features.

JESAP™ uses statistical regression analysis to determine boundaries for salary ranges and pay grades. This foundation provides justification to employees and other third parties for how a company determines a particular salary. The scientific nature of the analysis removes guesswork from the process yet still allows for an individual's experience and job knowledge.

JESAP™ determines appropriate salaries based on actual job responsibilities, which are figured in relation to 15 dimensions per job. Using these results, the software assigns points to each job and suggests a range within which the corresponding employee should be paid. The range is based on actual job requirements, but it also allows supervisors the flexibility to consider such factors as experience and time in the position.

JESAP™ takes into account 15 dimensions of job responsibilities and the degree to which each one is required for a job. By using statistical methodology to assign points to job responsibilities, JESAP™ can easily determine appropriate pay whether an employee is a clerical worker, engineer or vice-president.

JESAP™ compares internal pay rates to comparable market data, allowing a company to set goals for keeping up with the market in a specified geographical area or in the entire nation. The market data may be based on company research or obtained from third-party sources.

JESAP™ lets a company set multi-year goals for reaching compensation objectives based on realistic annual budgets.

Some of the features of the JESAP™ system are:
•     Web-based, electronic job description writer
•     Web-based, electronic fifteen factor job rating system that helps create internal value for each position throughout an entire organization
•     Ability to integrate internal pay structure with external market data to create an overall competitive compensation plan
•     Provides organizations with twenty-three years of defensible compensation practices for the board room or the court room
•     Software is virtually all point and click so it is user-friendly
•     Software is all electronic so it is a paperless program that is eco-friendly
