Copas, (Portuguese for cup), would offer organic, fair traded, sustainable products, including organic Yerba Mate, organic coffees, organic locally grown food, and organic beverages, including organic beer and wine. Copas, Inc. intends to be different from the traditional coffee house by offering Yerba Mate, a healthy alternative to coffee. Yerba Mate, a common stimulant beverage, which is consumed on a daily basis in South America, is an amazing unique tea whose taste and benefits are just becoming known in North America and Europe. It offers the health benefits of green tea, the energy boost of coffee, without the jitters and crash, and, some say, the euphoria of dark chocolate. Yerba Mate is a common traditional drink in Latin America (yer-bah mah-tay). The Copas Cafes are intended to make the customer feel welcome, comfortable, and productive at the same time.
Products: Yerba Mate is rich in anti-oxidants, amino acids, minerals and vitamins. The Company anticipates that each Copas location would offer a place with a stage and sound system open to local entertainment and community events, and feature a Comedy night, a Poetry Slam (contest), an Open Mic night featuring local singers, songwriters and bands, a Speakers Corner night of current issues and concerns, and regular monthly events featuring local fine artists. Copas Yerba Mate Cafes plan to also offer space with an environment open to entrepreneurs and start ups and provide computer use and internet access, Wi-Fi.  Copas Yerba Mate Cafes would provide an architecturally relaxing rain forest-themed café setting.
