Retro-Tech Wound Dressing is a FDA Cleared, highly effective multi-medication wound dressing that performs exceptionally well over a broad spectrum of wounds, especially those that are infected.1

The inexpensive RTD dressing offers an alternative protocol that may be used before incorporating costly wound vacuum or hyperbaric therapies.
RTD absorbs microbe infected wound exudate via natural capillary action.
The dressing is designed to avoid release of the antimicrobials into the wound and retains them in the dressing matrix.

The RTD Dressing is a (20:1+) weight absorbing, inert, dry soft, pliable wound conforming, polyether/polyurethane foam pad dressing impregnated with three anti-microbials. The antimicrobial affect occurs outside the body as the microbe kill zone is within the dressing.1

Wound recovery is enhanced by the curative measures provided by the RTD dressing, specifically because they target multiple types of infectious microbes, have a long acting delivery system and are naturally highly absorbent.1

These three FDA cleared medications are ionically bonded to a proprietary medical grade polyether/polyurethane matrix.  The three medications that make up this matrix are as follows; 1. Methylene Blue (0.25 mg/g): is an antimicrobial that kills pathogens which are so small that other antimicrobials cannot penetrate them, including gram negative bacteria.  2. Gentian Violet (0.25 mg/g) is one of the broadest spectrum antimicrobials with antifungal coverage as well as historically proven anti-inflammatory and anesthetic properties.
3. Silver Sodium Zirconium Phosphate (7 mg/g) acts as a backup antimicrobial and aids in the degradation of biofilm exopolymers; the coating on some wounds which  protects bacterial agglomerates and is invisible to the naked eye.

While there are some wounds that will not heal, irrespective of treatment protocols, there are an enormous number of wound types for which healing can be achieved utilizing the innovative RTD dressing technology.

RTD has been tested against various microbes. The following organisms were tested by a nationally prominent microbiology laboratory. The log reduction to the base 10 over time is shown in parenthesis:

■Staphylococcus aureus MRSA (>5.74, 24hrs)
■Vancomycin-Resistant Enterococci, VRE (>2.2, 48 hrs)
■Staphylococcus Aureus (>4.59, 24hrs)
■Pseudomonas aeruginosa (>4.33, 24hrs)
■Escherichia coli (>3.21, 24hrs)
■Salmonella cholerasuis (>3.73, 24hrs)
■Clostridium sporogenes (2.37, 48hrs)
■Bacillus subtilis (2.81, 24hrs)
■Aspergillus niger (>3.51, 24hrs)
■Candida albicans (>3.54, 24hrs)
