About

The Dallas Founder Lions Club is one of the oldest Lions Clubs in Texas and among the original clubs that helped launch Lions Clubs International, now the world’s largest service organization with nearly 50,000 clubs and 1.4 million members. Founded in 1916, our club has a proud legacy of community service and civic leadership in Dallas.

Meeting just blocks from the site of Lions Clubs International’s first convention in 1917, the Dallas Founder Lions are dedicated to building a stronger and healthier Dallas through hands-on service projects. Our core service areas align with global priorities, including vision care, hunger relief, environmental protection, youth empowerment, and health and wellness.

We proudly partner with organizations like Dallas College El Centro Campus and the Lions Sight and Tissue Foundation to provide free vision screenings, mobile optometrist services, and support for students and underserved communities. Our initiatives also include environmental cleanups, food security programs, leadership development for youth, and supporting sustainability efforts tied to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Our club has experienced a major revitalization in recent years, with a diverse and dynamic membership now over 80 strong. We are committed to honoring the spirit of service that launched our organization over a century ago while building new pathways for impact and inclusion.
