4. Mustang Elite strives for athletic excellence at the local and national levels. Our program is dedicated to the development of individual and team skills, not by discouraging or making athletes feel less than themselves.
High School Athletes (Ages 15+)
Athletes who compete during the school season are expected to take a minimum of two weeks of rest before returning to full-intensity training with Mustang Elite. Our program follows periodized training, meaning planned phases of rest, load, and recovery are essential for long-term performance gains. After this rest period, athletes progress into higher training intensity and volume. High school athletes are also expected to demonstrate leadership and help guide younger athletes.
Middle School level athletes (Ages 11 and up):
Athletes at this level are growing and can be intentional with their movements. Weightlifting is introduced slowly along with discus, relays, hurdles, and long-distance events. These athletes are beginning to move past the fundamental phase and learn more intermediate movements.
Elementary School level athletes (Ages 10 and under):
Athletes at this level focus on fundamental movement, general speed, and basic strength. Training intensity and volume remain low to support safe development. Competition spikes are not recommended, as they may increase injury risk. Events available for U10 athletes include: sprints, middle distance, relays, jumps, select throws, racewalk, and the triathlon.
